Malang: The Minister of the Village for Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Eko Putro Sandjojo plans to make the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Malang become a model for all villages in Indonesia.
"Malang Regency includes the BUMDes, which can be used as an example. Even the Pujon Kidul Village, the BUMDes are so successful that they enter directly into the President's social media," he said in Malang, Friday, March 8, 2019.
For information, Pujon Kidul Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency, East Java, with only Rp. 60 million capital, has now become a well-known tourist destination in Malang.
Malang Regency has 370 villages. A total of 113 villages have established BUMDes. BUMDes Sumber Sejahtera in Pujon Kidul Village is the best and often won awards at the national level.
In fact, Pujon Kidul Village received special attention from the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. This can be seen from the upload of a video titled 'New Era of Pujon Kidul Village' on the YouTube account of the number one person in Indonesia.
"For example, for the cash-less village, I will start with the SOE in Malang Regency. If it is with the private sector, we have started in Sleman Regency. Then there will be more programs in Malang because the commitment is strong in the regent," he added. .
Eko explained that Malang Regency has relatively better infrastructure. That was one of the reasons Malang Regency became a pilot.
"So to move even faster to the sector of economic giving and public payments, Malang can we make an example. Moreover, there are already examples of BUMDes like Pujon Kidul, Boon Pring and others," he explained.
"There is even the best village in Indonesia that is also a champion of Malang Regency too. There are many things we can encourage, especially in the tourism sector," he added.
On the other hand, Eko added that the village funding program is relatively successful. The reason is, more than 1000 BUMDes who already have incomes above Rp 1 billion.
"And there are already several BUMDes that pay more taxes than village funds," he said.
Meanwhile, if there is misuse of village funds, Eko claimed to be resolved by the head of the department in their respective regions. "There is an agreement from the head of the police if there is a case delegated to the inspectorate first to be resolved. If it cannot be further processed, the law will be further," he concluded.
